This study adopted a mixed-methods design, combining both surveys and interviews to gain a deeper understanding of the various elements influencing student attrition. The research explored cognitive, emotional, institutional, and socioeconomic factors that affect student retention. Drawing from constructivist and behaviorist learning theories, an educational intervention was developed, incorporating blended learning formats, peer tutoring, and the promotion of a Continuing Education program. These strategies were intended to boost student motivation, enhance the overall learning experience, and provide greater academic flexibility. The pilot program's findings indicated that incompatible class schedules, limited foundational knowledge of English, and low motivation were among the main challenges faced by students. However, students who received personalized support, participated in peer groups, or took intensive courses demonstrated improved engagement and performance. The thesis concludes that these strategies are effective in reducing dropout rates and recommends their inclusion in regular academic planning for long-term improvement in student retention.en-UShttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2DropoutmotivationstrategiesretentionEFLStrategies to Reduce Dropout Rates in English as a Foreign Language Learning in A1 studentsEstrategias para reducir las tasas de deserción en el aprendizaje del inglés como lengua extranjera en estudiantes de nivel A1Thesis
