This thesis examines how sixth-grade students at "Crespo Toral" School in Cayambe, Pichincha, are able to improve their reading comprehension skills through the use of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) in Moodle. The issue is centered on sixth grade students’ low English proficiency, which is brought on by a lack of a supportive environment and ineffective traditional teaching strategies. The main goal is to improve reading comprehension by implementing a VLE with Moodle. Conducting a diagnostic assessment, providing instructional resources and technology, and monitoring student development are some of the specific goals. A pretest and posttest were given to twenty students as part of a mixed methods approach to evaluate their growth and the usefulness of the platform. The reading comprehension scores significantly improved, and the proficiency levels increased by around 20%. Besides, student enthusiasm and engagement were revitalized by the Moodle platform’s integration with the ADDIE instructional design. Finally, this study’s results point to long-term gains in students’ language competencies, guiding a new era of English instruction at “Crespo Toral” School.
