N: The present thesis entitled “The Effectiveness of Communicative Language Teaching Tasks to Foster Speaking Skill in B1 Level Students” focused on implementing communicative-based tasks to improve oral production in students at the intermediate level (B1) of English proficiency. The study was conducted with students from the Academia Militar del Valle and aimed to promote speaking fluency through structured and purposeful interaction. To meet this objective, the researcher designed and applied a series of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) tasks that encouraged real-life communication, peer collaboration, meaningful interaction, and the use of language in authentic contexts. The approach shifted the focus from teacher-centered instruction to a student-centered environment, where learners became active participants in their own learning process, using the target language to express opinions, share experiences, and solve communicative challenges. The findings revealed that the implementation of communicative tasks significantly enhanced students’ speaking fluency and confidence. Students demonstrated improved interaction skills, better pronunciation, expanded vocabulary, and increased motivation to iii participate in oral activities. Furthermore, the integration of different resources and interactive techniques played a crucial role in creating a dynamic and engaging classroom atmosphere.
