Abstract
Students at Unidad Educativa Nuestra Señora de Pompeya located in Puyo, faced significant challenges in developing their speaking skills. This study aimed to implement methodological strategies supported by collaborative tasks, focusing on enhancing students’ oral proficiency. The sample consisted of 37 seventh-grade students who participated in this research. To collect data and assess the effectiveness of the methodologies, a mix-methods approach was used, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative tools such as surveys, interviews and checklists. The results revealed notable improvements following the implementation of the strategies, including greater fluency, increased accuracy, and enhanced learner confidence. One of the most important outcomes was creation of an engaging and supportive classroom environment that addressed student hesitation and difficulties with pronunciation.
