For this reason, the best strategy to encourage learning a foreign language is through the use of music since it creates a relaxed and motivating environment. Music strengthens the listening ability, being of great motivation in the student's learning. Thus, listening ability is one of the essential skills in learning a language since it allows us to understand what a person thinks, feels, desires, and what the message received is. Therefore, the main purpose of this research was to demonstrate how the use of pop music can improve listening skills in students of A1 level. The study covered a population of 31 students of eighth-grade level who had difficulty in listening skills. For this purpose, quantitative research was applied. The instruments used were a Pre-test and post-test, a survey, and a checklist to know the student's progress. The results demonstrated that the use of pop music helped in improving listening skills. This research allowed us to know the effectiveness of pop music since the students, by participating in it, demonstrated the best development of the skill, creating interaction and security in learning the language. Therefore, learning English is not so difficult and boring as music is the key to the attraction and motivation of learning a foreign language.
