Abstract
This research work deals with the use of the Book Creator tool to improve the reading comprehension of A2 level students. The general objective is to “Determine the effectiveness of the Book Creator tool in reading comprehension in A2 students of Unidad Educativa Diez de Agosto.” The methodology used was quantitative research, to quantify the impact of an adaptive learning platform on the ability of eighth grade students to extract factual information from narrative texts. The data collection instruments consisted of a pretest, posttest and a survey that were applied to 20 students to gather accurate information about Book Creator in relation to reading comprehension skills of A2 level students. The information obtained allowed us to analyze the results, among them, the activities through Book Creator improved reading comprehension in eighth grade students. A significant increase in the Mean was demonstrated in each of the dimensions. Additionally, by engaging in the creative process of constructing a book, students were able to develop a better appreciation for reading and content, which in turn may improve their ability to understand and retain what they read. Finally, it is concluded that the digital educational tool Book Creator was effective in improving reading comprehension. It was also demonstrated that it is a valuable platform to encourage creativity, while facilitating the creation of interactive electronic books and educational.
